Graduate Intern - Capella University

I am committed to supporting individuals as they navigate challenges and move toward greater awareness, growth, and meaningful change. My approach is grounded in Gestalt and Reality Therapy, with a focus on present-moment awareness, personal responsibility, and helping clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected.

I work with individuals experiencing trauma, including religious trauma and PTSD, as well as stress, anxiety, and issues impacting LGBTQIA+ individuals. I also support individuals who are questioning or exploring aspects of identity by creating space to examine thoughts, emotions, and experiences in the present moment, helping clients move toward a clearer understanding of themselves and their choices.

My counseling style is active, engaged, and focused on the here and now. Through Gestalt-informed techniques, I help clients increase awareness of their emotions, patterns, and internal experiences. Using principles from Reality Therapy, I work with clients to examine choices, identify needs, and develop practical strategies for change. The goal is to support clients in gaining clarity, building accountability, and creating more effective ways of relating to themselves and others.

Before entering the counseling field, I spent nearly 20 years working internationally in business and finance. This experience gave me a strong understanding of high-pressure environments, performance expectations, and the impact of stress and burnout. I bring that perspective into my work with clients who are navigating demanding careers, life transitions, and identity-related challenges.

I strive to provide a supportive and direct therapeutic environment where clients can build awareness, take ownership of their choices, and move toward lasting, meaningful change.
