Amy Sargeant, Graduate Intern

Colorado Christian University

I believe we all have the potential for wellness but often life, and circumstances get in the way. These things can become more than we can handle on our own and sometimes we need to meet with a professional to learn some skills to better cope. People were made for fellowship, and I would be grateful to be that safe someone who you come to see for unconditional compassion, love, and support.

My counseling is based in a Christian Existential viewpoint incorporated with Narrative, Reality, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. I fully believe that to be “well” we need to work from a holistic wellness model for mind, body, soul, and spirit. I find that the most significant change happens when we embrace the goodness of the gospel and let Jesus meet us in places of weakness, pain, and confusion. However, I will only include a Christian framework if you want it incorporated in your counseling. It is important to me to value and accept all clients, backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.

I work hard to understand your issue, come up with a collaborative goal, and work with you to get better. My passion is in working with adolescents (15 and up), young adults, and women.

My personal background is in youth and adult ministry. I have three teenagers and have been married 22 years to my Marine who is now working as a civilian. I specialize in helping with life transitions, anxiety-depression, and interpersonal relationships.
